Ankazoberavina Island
A true luxury ecolodge located on the totally private island of our partner Max. Marine and land protected area where nine authentic Madagascar style bungalows are hidden in the lush nature.
The island’s coastline is surrounded by a number of highly varied coves, The coastline is made up of white coral sand, black sand and pebble beaches, and mangrove swamp coves.
The island is located 20 km from Nosy Be in the Indian Ocean and can only be reached by a 15-minute helicopter ride or an hour-long motorboat ride.
The wild beauty of Ankazoberavina Island is protected and preserved by the Wild Nature Society , a ‘protected area’ recognised by the local authorities, along with the coral reefs that surround the island.
Rising out of the sea, the island has a hill profile and is entirely covered in dense, untouched jungle.
Arriving from the sea, you can admire the island’s different bays, the white coral sand beach that hides the resort, the mangrove cove, and the black basalt coves, with lush coral reefs in the foreground, teeming with colourful tropical fish and all kinds of marine life.
Ankazoberavina is often home to a number of unique marine species that choose to rest in the sea off the island during their long migrations. Such as humpback whales, turtles that come out to lay their eggs on the sandy shores of the island, where they can be admired, or even small turtles hatching.
Eco Lodge
Located on the northern part of the island, the eight plus one exclusive bungalows are surrounded by lush jungle vegetation and protected and hidden, together with the coral sand beach.
The new rystyling dell’ecolodge offers two categories, Bungalow Standard and Bungalow Superior, and the plus one, which is none other than the recently completed Buongalow Tree, built on top of a tree.
All Bungalow Ankazoberavina are built in traditional Malagasy architectural style, with typical local furnishings, and all are equipped with hot water, electric lighting and standard sockets. All bungalows are perfectly harmonized and hidden in nature, just 20 meters from the beach.
The accommodation also has a large rosewood lobby of over 200 square metres. It houses the restaurant, kitchen, bar and library room. Eco Lodge Life also offers easy-to-footpaths for exploring the island, plus a beautiful sea-view terrace for enjoying cocktails and a cosy corner for massages.
