Nosy Be Island tour 2.

We will pick you up in front of your hotel in the morning.

You can choose a tuk-tuk, car or minibus.

We go straight to the main square of Hell Ville, where the big market in Nosy Be and our office are. We park at the office and head across the square, where we dive into the hustle and bustle of the large market with its colourful cavalcade.

After the market we head to the south-east side of Nosy Be, where Lemuria Land is located. We can say, this is a kind of zoo. In the beautifully manicured jungle park, lemurs live freely, and you can get up close and personal with more than 10 species of lemurs.  But the park is also home to giant tortoises over 200 years old, Madagascar’s largest chameleons over half a meter long, giant and baby crocodiles and many more interesting local animals and plants to see and even to touch. Finally, we will also visit the park’s own ylang-ylang distillery, the oldest and one of the largest on the island, which, if we are lucky, we can admire in operation, amidst a cloud of intoxicating fragrance.

We will then return to Hell Ville again and, depending on your appetite, either have lunch at one of the best local authentic Malagasy restaurants or continue straight away to visit the famous Sacred Tree, where in case of luck enough, we meet a very friendly family of lemurs too. The sacred tree itself covers several 1000 square meters, like a forest or the Tree of Souls in the movie Avatar. From here we continue towards the waterfall hidden in the jungle, but before arriving we stop for lunch at the restaurant of the local fish smoker in Nosy Be.

Afterwards, head to the waterfall’s cooling lake after a 5-10 minute jungle walk. Bathing in the waterfall is a fantastic and refreshing experience.

After the waterfall, if we still have time and you have energy left, we can visit one of the most beautiful beaches, Andilana, or the Mont Passot lookout, which offers a magnificent view of the whole of Nosy Be.
